Air Conditioning Centre of Excellence at Don Bosco Oysterbay, Tanzania

The partnership between Daikin company and Don Bosco Tech Africa continues to grow stronger. On 11th May 2023, Daikin company officially launched the Air Conditioning Centre of Excellence at Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam-Tanzania. The centre is equipped with modern machines that will be used to train students in the latest air conditioning technology. This initiative is set to initially benefit 150 students.

Rising temperatures due to climate change have led many people around the world to install cooling systems in their homes and offices. Hence, there is a need for highly qualified technicians specializing in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) technology. Therefore, Daikin aims to instil Don Bosco trainees with these advanced technologies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Dinesh Kumar Sinha, the Daikin’s Business Head in East Africa underscored that the project also seeks to promote the spread of environmentally-friendly air solutions to combat climate change.

“Through this initiative, we are training future generations of technicians who can confidently and professionally handle the latest innovations in energy-efficient air conditioning technologies thus enhancing their future career prospects in employment and business,” said Mr Dinesh.

Fr. Waldemar Jonatowski, the Principal of Don Bosco Oysterbay, expressed his gratitude to Daikin for supporting Don Bosco with this program adding that it will transform the lives of the beneficiaries by equipping them with new advanced skills in a fast-growing industry.

This partnership is a win-win situation because, with the support of Daikin, Don Bosco will provide quality training. On the other hand, Don Bosco will help in taking the Daikin brand to greater heights.

In November 2022, Daikin launched a similar centre of excellence at Don Bosco Boys’ Town Technical Institute, Karen-Nairobi, Kenya.
