Empowering Street Children: A Celebration of Hope and Opportunity

Every year on 12th April the world commemorates International Day for Street Children reflecting on the challenges faced by children living on the streets while also celebrating their resilience and optimism for a brighter tomorrow. At Don Bosco Catholic TVET Institute – Bosco Children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, every day is dedicated to providing these children with love, support, and opportunities for a better future.

This year, Bosco Children marked the day by organising a volleyball tournament among the institute’s departments, demonstrating the spirit of togetherness that defines the community. The institute’s management expresses profound gratitude to the referees who generously volunteered their time and expertise, as well as to Abba Angelo for generously sponsoring the winners’ prizes.

On the same day, Fr. Abba Samuel Abraha gave insightful teachings to the staff on the pedagogy of Don Bosco in relation to the 2024 Strenna “The Dream that Makes You Dream.” This philosophy serves as a guiding light for the Bosco Children community as it continues to provide holistic care and education to vulnerable children.

As the centre envisions a world where every child is given the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances, they invite everyone to join them in spreading awareness about the life-changing opportunities available at Don Bosco Catholic TVET Institute – Bosco Children.

“Together, let us strive to create a world where every child has a place to call home, where kindness reigns, and where the echoes of laughter drown out the cries of adversity.”
