Designing VET Curricula through Innovative Approaches
The Design Together project kicked off in Athens, Greece, from March 19 to 22, 2024, bringing together partners from Benin, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Belgium, Portugal, Tanzania, and Greece. The Design Together initiative stands at the forefront of reimagining Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to meet the ever-evolving demands of our global labour market. Born from the collective vision of experts in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, the project is a beacon of innovation, aiming to harmonize TVET curricula with the realities of the digital age and market needs. It envisions a future where TVET is synonymous with adaptability, relevance, and innovation, fostering skill enhancement, methodological renewal, cultural harmony, and a robust community of practice.
During the kick-off meeting, the discussions revolved around developing sustainable mechanisms for curriculum design/revision, including the utilization of DACUM, a tool aimed at enhancing curriculum design efficiency. Partners presented diverse work packages, fostering dialogue on challenges, solutions, and collaborative strategies to benefit young people in Africa.
Design Together signifies a paradigm shift in TVET collaboration, promising to empower both educators and students, ultimately driving socio-economic development across continents.
The “Design Together” consortium is a vibrant community of partners from across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in TVET.
