3E: Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Ethiopia Partners Undertake Study Visit to Don Bosco Tech Africa

On July 14, 2026, Don Bosco Tech Africa hosted a delegation from the 3E: (Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Ethiopia) project. The delegation comprised representatives from CINOP, Iceaddis, Addis Ababa Tegbare-id Polytechnic College, and Learningdigital.

The 3E initiative is an international partnership that seeks to strengthen Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by equipping young people with the skills, networks, and support needed to transform innovative ideas into sustainable businesses and employment opportunities. The initiative promotes closer collaboration between TVET institutions, innovation hubs, industry, and entrepreneurship support organisations to foster innovation, business creation, and youth employment.

As part of this learning journey, the 3E partners visited Don Bosco Tech Africa to explore innovative approaches in three strategic areas: digitalisation in TVET, innovation and incubation, and career guidance and student transition. Discussions also focused on cross cutting themes, including strategic partnerships for sustainable collaboration and sustainable revenue models, recognising that sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems require strong institutional partnerships and long term investment.

During the engagement, Don Bosco Tech Africa showcased its integrated approach to skills development, demonstrating how digital innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems can address Africa’s skills mismatch, limited employment opportunities, financial exclusion, and barriers to digital access. Don Bosco Tech Africa further shared its entrepreneurship framework, illustrating how mentorship, incubation, innovation hubs, access to finance, and industry partnerships support young people throughout the entrepreneurial journey, from identifying opportunities to building sustainable enterprises. Participants were also introduced to the Don Bosco Virtual Training Institute (DBVTI), DBTA’s digital learning platform that enables flexible and blended learning, digital credentials, and access to emerging technologies.

A significant milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Don Bosco Tech Africa and Addis Ababa Tegbare-id Polytechnic College. The agreement establishes a framework for continued collaboration through knowledge exchange, staff engagement, joint learning activities, and the sharing of good practices in digitalisation, innovation, career guidance, and institutional development.

The partnership reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthen TVET systems through innovation and collaboration, creating practical solutions that respond to evolving labour market needs while equipping young people with the skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and opportunities required to drive sustainable economic development across Africa.
