World Environment Day 2024: Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5th, focusing on crucial environmental issues. This year’s theme, centred on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience, highlights the urgent need to address these challenges. It serves as a global platform to raise awareness and encourage action to protect our planet’s ecosystems.
DB Tech Africa is committed to contributing positively to the environment by addressing these pressing issues. Through innovative technologies and sustainable practices, the organization aims to promote land restoration, combat desertification, and enhance drought resilience.
By aligning its operations with the World Environment Day theme, DB Tech Africa demonstrates its dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainability through awareness creation and training in water and wastewater management, waste management, green energy, greening of curricula, afforestation and reforestation practices within its communities. This has been made possible through the Green TVET Initiative with a strategy of a Green Campus, Green Community and a Green Culture.
As we commemorate World Environment Day, let us all take a moment to reflect on the importance of land restoration, desertification prevention, and drought resilience. Together, we can make a difference by supporting different initiatives to make our world a better, greener, and more sustainable future for generations through a community that can create a balance between social, economic and environmental needs.
