Don Bosco Tech Africa Hosts TVET Systematization Workshop in Nairobi

Don Bosco Tech Africa has convened a 10-day TVET Systematization Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together Provincial Youth Delegates (PYDs) and Provincial Job Service Officers (P-JSOs) from across Africa and Madagascar. The workshop, which officially opened on 18 May and runs until 27 May 2026, aims to strengthen collaboration, improve quality systems, and enhance data-driven decision-making within the Don Bosco TVET network.

In his opening remarks, Fr. Maximus Okoro emphasized that the workshop is more than a technical gathering. He described it as a continental Salesian commitment focused on building hope, dignity, and opportunities for young people through quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). He challenged participants to move beyond routine programme management and intentionally create systems that transform the lives of young people.

The workshop focuses on key systematization tools and frameworks, including the revised JSO Quality Manual, the Don Bosco Virtual Training Institute (DBVTI), the InserJeune tracer study system, Don Bosco TVET Management Information System, and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Through technical sessions, practical exercises, group work, and peer learning, participants are expected to develop implementation plans, strengthen institutional collaboration, and improve monitoring and reporting systems across the network.

The initiative reflects Don Bosco Tech Africa’s continued commitment to building a coherent, innovative, and relevant TVET system that responds effectively to the realities of Africa’s labour market and the aspirations of its youth.

This initiative is supported by Misiones Salesianas, Madrid and the Salesianas Missions, New Rochelle.
