Training of Trainers on Management of Don Bosco TVET Centres
Don Bosco Tech Africa, in partnership with the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO), trained 400 Salesian TVET center managers and staff on the management of Don Bosco Technical and Vocational Education and Training Centres over the course of a year. Eighty (80) of the 400 trainees were chosen to attend the Training of Trainers (ToT) session in Nairobi, Kenya. The ToT will be carried out in two phases, the first for Salesian in English-speaking countries and the second for those in French-speaking countries in Africa-Madagascar, with those from the Portuguese-speaking zone being absorbed into both.
The first ToT for the English-speaking zone began today, January 24th, 2022, and will last for five days. 33 participants from Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Rwanda are attending the program.
Participants will be equipped with the information needed to effectively manage TVET centers by the end of the course, and they will be expected to be agents of change in their institutions and nations. They will train others in their countries to achieve efficient and sustainable TVET Centres in Africa.
