Roundtable Meeting in ACC Province

Today, the National Job Service Office Mr Maxime Odia in conjunction with the PTVET, Rev. Fr. Joachim Tshibangu from the ACC Province, DR. Congo organised a Roundtable/Conference at the Provincial Headquarters in Kinshasa. The Roundtable brought together young people and employers under the theme: “Professional insertion and employability of young people in the economic context of the DRC”. This was an opportunity for the young people and the entrepreneurs/employers to engage each other and seek solutions to enhance youth employability in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). To facilitate the success of the Conference, the Theme was further subdivided into two key sub-themes:

1. Job search techniques inDRC which was facilitated by Mr Benjamin Olangi, a Professor of Economics at the Catholic University of Congo; and
2. Additional skills in the 21st Century facilitated by Mr Don Bosco Mbo a researcher and company director (CFAID).

Employers in attendance were; Mr Don Bosco Mbo of CFAID, Ms Miteo of Congolese Modern Engineering Company, and Mr Duval, the Head of Duval Electric.

Young people were represented by 19 young people from both Don Bosco Masina and Lukunga accompanied by 10 trainers while the PDO was represented by Mr Pierrot Oblat and Mr Maxime Odia.
