Don Bosco Tech Africa Annual Board Meeting in Nairobi
23–24 July 2025, Nairobi, Kenya – Don Bosco Tech Africa (DBTA) held its annual board meeting at its headquarters in Nairobi.
The two-day meeting provided a comprehensive review of the organization’s progress over the past year. Key presentations highlighted DBTA’s activities, ongoing initiatives, impact milestones, encountered challenges, and the Strategic Plan 2025–2029 and Sustainability Plan.
The Board members engaged in productive discussions focused on identifying effective strategies to address the challenges faced by the network and explored opportunities to enhance future organizational growth and impact.
A special session was held between the Board and the DBTA Office staff, during which the team was updated on the evolving structure of the two Salesian regions in Africa. It was confirmed that the regional secretariats, Don Bosco Tech Africa, SAFCAM, and CIVAM will continue to function as unified entities to foster coordination and efficiency across the continent.
The meeting reaffirmed DBTA’s commitment to advancing quality skills training, fostering youth employability, and promoting sustainable development across the Salesian TVET network in Africa.
The meeting was attended by Fr. George Tharaniyil, the board chairperson, Fr. Alphonse Owoudou, Regional Councillor for Central and Western Africa Region, Fr. Maximus Okoro, DBTA Director and the board secretary, Fr. Innocent Bizimana, Regional Councillor of East and South Africa Region, Fr. Sahaya Selvam, Fr. Vincent Mokaya, Fr. Jojo Kachapilly, Fr. Boniface Mchami, Mr. Mathieu Adjanou and Br. John Njuguna.
