AFW-Province, Educata Ghana International Education Exhibition

The Don Bosco AFW-Ghana team participated in the 2nd Edition of Educata Ghana (the first international education exhibition and conference factory for all students, professionals, private and public institutions) with a call on stakeholders in education to prioritize skills training for youth employability. The event took place at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra from the 19th October – 20th October 2020

Among the participants from Don Bosco were; Mr. Benson Boateng (PTVET), Mr. Benedict Mensah (JSO), Mr. Daniel Yeboah (Local JSO, Don Bosco Technical Institute Odumase – Sunyani), Br. Christof Baum (Director – Solar, DBTI Ashaiman), 3 students and past pupil. The team had an opportunity to showcase some activities and interventions by the Salesians particularly TVET.

Discussions during this event were tailored towards identification of existing programmes and services in the education sector, current needs, future projections and outlining the pathway to achieve desired results.

Br. Christof Baum and Mr. Godson Senam (Artisan and scholarship holder – DBTI, Ashaiman) were among the panellists. They shared their knowledge and experiences on the topic: “TVET: The Scholarship program by Baden – Wuerttemberg Stiftung Foundation and how young people can participate.”

This year’s event focused on the following key areas;

  • Basic and higher education
  • Technical and Vocational Education and Training
  • Entrepreneurship
  • On-the-job Development

Educata Ghana is a German-initiated forum that brings stakeholders in the education industry to dialogue as a means of making Ghanaian students access more training opportunities to drive industrialisation. The event offered an international platform for participants to establish new business contacts, interact with education stakeholders and promote business.
