Africa students mobility to Europe
The Support Alliance for African Mobility (SAAM) is a pilot project in the field of vocational education and training that aims to promote the establishment of mechanisms for the exchange of knowledge, training methodologies and skills between Europe and Africa.
Since its launch, SAAM has had over 100 mobilities taking place.
The first mobility was for experts who visited African countries as part of the program, and teachers from Africa went on a month-long exchange visit to Europe.
Currently, students from Africa accompanied by the teachers are in Europe for the exchange program, among them are from Nigeria who are visiting CPIFP Corona de Aragon in Zaragoza – Spain, Institut Technique de Don Bosco Ebolowa-Cameron visiting Huelva in Spain Centre Pere Michelle de Bamako – Mali visited ANESPO in Portugal and Centre Prive de Formation Professionnelle Don Bosco Bobo – Dioulasso – Burkina-Faso SEPR in France. The other TVET centres are preparing to go for the exchange program in the coming month.
During the visits to Europe, they are expected to learn something new from the technical schools and learn more about European culture. Students will also go for attachment in a company for a month there during their stay.
In a bid to promote networking, Don Bosco Tech Africa (DBTA) has partnered with SAAM in this project to enhance co-operation with institutions whose focus is on TVET. In this project six (6) TVET centres are directly under the umbrella of DBTA. These are; Institut Technique de Don Bosco – Cameroon, Ecole Professionnelle de Don Bosco N’Djamena in Chad, Centre Prive de Formation Professionnelle Don Bosco Bobo – Dioulasso in Burkina faso , Centre Père Michel de Bamako – Mali, St. Joseph Vocational Training Centre Sudan Khartoum and Salesians of Don Bosco Dekemhare -Eritrea Dekemhare
Other Salesian TVET centres from the DBTA network in the SAAM project are; Centre de Formation Professionnelle Don Bosco Medina Fall (Senegal), Don Bosco Training Center Mabubas (Angola), Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute (Malawi), Don Bosco Technical High School (Liberia), John Bosco Institute of Technology Jobitech (Nigeria), Ecole Professionnelle Salésienne St. Jean Bosco (Benin), Don Bosco Boys Town Technical Institute (Kenya) and Centre Professionnel Artisanal Rural (Ivory Coast),
