A virtual Graduation Ceremony for the Salesian TVET Centre Management Staff

The graduation ceremony for the first batch of Salesian TVET Centre Management Staff who were undertaking an e-learning course was held on 11th January 2021. The course was designed specially to improve the quality of service delivery in the Salesian TVET centres. Four modules were covered: Organizational Management, Financial Management, Entrepreneurship, and Green TVET and Sustainable Approaches.

While conveying his congratulatory message on behalf of DBTA during the event, Fr. TJ applauded the graduands for their persistence and focus which enabled them to complete the course. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the ITCI-ILO team for upholding the Salesian spirit, and their professionalism while conducting the training sessions. He also thanked Don Bosco Mondo-Bonn for funding the training and its continued support to DBTA.

During this virtual ceremony, 25 graduands were awarded certificates of achievement and 8 participants awarded with certificates of participation.

The ceremony was moderated by Stefano Merante, the Skills Development and TVET Program Officer at the International Training Centre of ILO (ITC-ILO).

The nine-week training commenced on 12thOctober 2020 and ended on 16th December 2020, with 40 participants who had been selected from the English-speaking countries (Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and South Sudan).

Another team of 136 Salesian TVET Centre managers from French (88) and Portuguese (48) speaking countries in Sub-Saharan Africa are set to be trained in the same course from 25th January 2021.
