Phase 2 of the Capacity Development Training for the Salesian TVET Centre Management Staff has officially commenced. Currently, 79 participants drawn from the French, and 48 from the Portuguese speaking countries in Sub-Saharan Africa are undergoing the training, that aims to boost their capacities in managing the Don Bosco TVET Centres.

On 25th January 2021, the International Training Centre of ILO (ITC-ILO) in conjunction with Don Bosco Tech Africa (DBTA), facilitated an introductory webinar for the participants from Angola, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, Mozambique, Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.

Fr. Tarcizio Morais, Coordinator of the School and Vocational Training office in the Salesian Youth Ministry Department, set the tone for the training with a webinar on 26th January 2021, highlighting the history of vocational training in the congregation and the great importance the congregation places on vocational training.

In his remarks during the Webinar, Fr. George TJ, DBTA Executive Director, urged them to stay focused while undertaking the course, as part of their responsibility to the marginalized young people whom they are called to serve. He was optimistic that the course will enhance their skills in effectively managing the TVET Centres. The training is expected to end on 26th March 2021.
