Capacity Building For Leadership In TVET Mobility Between Africa And Europe

Capacity Building for leadership in TVET Mobility between Africa and Europe

A one-week workshop on Capacity Building for Leadership in TVET Mobility between Africa and Europe brought together 34 African teachers and VET professionals from 13 African nations, as well as European partners, in Brussels.

Participants discussed the mobility process from Africa to Europe, as well as the challenges that may be encountered and how to overcome them.

One of the main benefits that was agreed upon by all the participants was that it will be an opportunity for “Internationalization of our TVET schools” through the exchange of ideas between the peers. Strategic partnerships between Africa and Europe will be a great investment in the TVET education.

Experts from the European Commission also took the time to present fresh project opportunities from the commission to the attendees. They described the application process to the participants, as well as the commission’s requirements.

Participants went on a tour of Brussels and the Don Bosco Sint-Denijs-Westrem TVET center in Belgium.

Following the meeting, the African partners (trainers) flew to their peer TVET centers in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Finland, and Greece, where they will participate in an exchange program for three weeks.

SAAM Mobility representatives from San Viator, Asociación Mundus, EfVET and Don Bosco Tech Africa had an official visit to the EU Commission delegation.

Out of the 17 Africa countries participating in the project, 14 are from the DBTA network. In this project, six (6) TVET centres are under the direct supervision of DBTA.

The next step for SAAM project is the mobility of African students to Europe.
